Solar storms are the best examples of very noticeable solar activities, which occur when sunspots erupt and release massive amount of charged particles. In effect, it can cause SERIOUS damages ranging from our hand-held gadgets to our space stations. Of course, that is not to mention its corresponding biological and geological impacts.
Notably, most of the technologies of our generation, if not all, can be KNOCKED OUT by intense solar activity and in fact, the National Academy of Sciences warned that even one major solar storm could cause approximately TWENTY TIMES more economic damage than Hurricane Katrina or any other major hurricanes recorded in the history of human kind.
Of course, the scientific community does not take this for granted and actually, they already started a few steps to mitigate the possible damages. Top scientists, including Richard Fisher met at the Space Weather Enterprise Forum, which was held at the National Press Club, Washington, D.C, and discussed the best ways to protect Earth's satellites and other vital systems from the coming solar storms.
Space weather forecasting is also making a rapid progress as said by Thomas Bogdan, director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)'s Space Weather Prediction Center in Boulder, Colo.
As of now, NASA and NOAA work hand-in-hand to monitor the sun and help predict its changes through the continuously evolving space technologies like the satellites, the Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory (STEREO), the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO), etc.
Just imagine what we could be dealing with the next few decades most especially, in the controversial year of 2012.
Is the sun somehow excited for a major astronomical event in 2012 that's why it becomes more active than ever? Does the upcoming GREAT RIFT or the GRAND ALIGNMENT of 2012, makes the sun somehow react unpredictably due to the fact that we are getting closer to its realignment with our galactic center? Nobody knows and only one thing is for certain:

If we are truly living in a Holographic Multiverse - as our Physicists now claim - then the increased activities of our Sun may have very good reasons. The steady increase in "Sun Worship" and simultaneous decrease in worshipping the True God Yahweh, may have a Causal and Effect relationship on these occurrences.

The sacred scriptures relate that: "since we desired the Sun to rule over us, Yahweh shall give it power to scortch the Earth with its heat and men shall curse themselves because of it." Of course, that only happens in "The Last Days" - wherein, "people go to and fro and knowledge greatly increases" - thus, we shouldn't fear!
All of that, comes in a time of: Two Worldwide Conflicts, Two Rumored Wars, The Reestablishement Of Israel To Its Sacred Homeland, A Worldwide Currency Crisis Leading To Artificial Scarcity, and Amidst People Clamoring For Peace And Safety - Which Leads To Sudden Destruction. How [really] likely, is that?
And then, of course, there has to be the reemergence of "Babylon The Great" somewhere upon the Earth and a One World Order - which shall persecute all of His numerous believers.... When do you think that that could ever happen?
